Lovin' the MGS sample :3 "!"

Very cool

Sounds like something from The Matrix Reloaded. :3

This song fucked my mind at 11 in the morning.

Very moving.

I really enjoyed this, quite relaxing. At some points I felt as though there could've been a couple more layers going on to make it more interesting, but that's just personal taste.

Length was decent, maybe a little too long. I don't meditate though. :P

KEEP IT UP MAN :D

FatKidWitAJetPak responds:

Well hey hey, glad you listened to the ENTIRE THING... OR DID YOU?? Thanks trance man ;)

Boy...

...did I miss out.

Hmm, let's see here...

Well, to start things off, this track lacked an intro. It just went straight into the synth line, which is fine for NG :3 The synths are really nice and light, the FX could be EQed a bit more to fit a little better into the overall mix. I suggest low-cut EQ and reverb.

At 40 secs, there's a pause, which is neat, but what really puzzles me is why you chose it to be 3 beats. 2 or 4 beats would sound more solid.

I noticed some people mentioning this track lacking bass. I've noticed that as well. Your kick is fine, it's the bass synth that is...trying to be a backup lead synth. ;] Either lower it or add a proper bass synth and have it mimic that synth.

Your synth progression also tends to get a little high in the note register when you repeat the phrase and move it an octave higher. Synths should play in an octave range generally, if they exceed that range, they start to lose their character and just start to sound really weird. (2:29)

The track lacks an outro, which I suppose is fine for NG as well. They like to get straight to the good stuff :P

All in all, this isn't that bad in terms of structure, but the choices in rhythmic sounds and overall mixing could have been worked on more.

There you go! :D

Can I have a bagel with my cheese?

I'm actually quite disappointed with this.

The first minute 39 secs was a neat intro, but still lacked drive, since the kick was so punchy in the mids, and not in the low-end. The kick actually hurt my ears for the duration of the intro.

I'll have to agree with xKore that the build up at 1:40 was so out-of-place with the rest of the track. There was not other part in the track that even resembled that synth/pattern.

This is where the cheese gets too gooey. 2:22 until 3:20 screams euro. You didn't even take any of my advice that I gave you over MSN. I told you to turn down the mids on that thing! Supersaws are supposed to be full and airy, not forceful and ear-piercing. Supersaws are starting to get really generic anyway, and should be avoided unless you make dance music.

3:21 Is nice, and as xKore said, this is how the song should've progressed in the first place. It has some originality to it, unlike the previous part.

This is where I got really pissed off. THE TRACK GOES NOWHERE!!! This seems to be a really big problem with your tracks lately. You make a huge build, and you don't follow through with a climax. It just dies! It's quite displeasing.

The outro...well, what ever it is, is really lame. This track isn't even mixable.

If you really really want to progress with your music ie: get signed/noticed outside of NG, then please start following some sort of structure that people are familiar with! This track lacks any sort of progression. To me, it sounds like 3 different tracks.

In the end, I fear that this doesn't even really sound like trance at all. It's just some sort of dance hybrid.

PS: Pretty sure Will won this one. :3

TranceCrafter responds:

Most of the things you listed off are things I did intentionally and was an artistic choice I made because I felt that it would make this track unique. They were'nt some bad accident or lack of skill.

PS. Pretty sure Will didn't win because he never bothered to complete anything once he realized he'd actually need to TRY. So there is no comparison.

You asshole :3

HOW DARE YOU BEAT ME ON TEH TOP 5!!!1!!one!

RAWRRR

Anyways, I really dig this. :P

Needs more cowbell.

PEW PEW

Bahdshah responds:

it does need more cowbell, DAMN!!! LEMME RENAME MY TRACK TO KAZMO XD

This is awesome!

I always really liked your stuff, and this just shows what you can do!

This is really entrancing, the intro was nothing short of awesome.

When the kick came in, I was like YESSSS!

The panning effects really add to this, I think it's mandatory in this kind of trance, psy-trance right?

Really wish this wasn't so lofi :P

I noticed what you did with the phrasing at 2:52, very nice!

Keep at it, I really enjoy your tracks.

hopeku responds:

Woah cool this is much appreciated coming from you. If you want give me your email and i'll send you a hi fi version.

But yep high skies is really trancy for a psytrance track, we could almost call that Hopeku trance haha. It has a psytrance structure along with a psytrance bassline but trancy melodies and sounds.

Well thanks a lot buddy!

Although I like your stuff Harry...

It's stuff like this that discourages me to submit my tracks to the audio portal because I know that they won't see the light of day, not with this crowd.

Well then, hope next week's top30 isn't as...expected :3
