Do You Mind,,,

...If I Remix This???

I LOVE THE MELODY!

Could use better drums sounds and more mastering, but that doesn't remove the fact that this song has SOOO much potential!!!

Keep up the awesome work!

I won't mind that. Add me on msn: ianwaninge@hotmail.com so I can give you the melody and the Flp. ;) It could use indeed better mastering, I never used any mixing elements in my old songs. Thanks for the review. ;D

It's Kazmo, not Kamzo...lol ^^^

I really like what you did with my song! :P

I was hoping for a more 'hard' sound, this is actually quite soft. The synth is something I'd probably hear in some sort of epic trance song at the break.

MOAR SIDECHAIN :3 (I'm not sure if you have any in there lol)

Keep it up!

Dj-Brand0 responds:

Lol haha rofl didn't realise I wrote Kamzo XD

Im sorry 'Kazmo' :D ^^

I'm glad you liked it. I opened this up last night and played around with the base etc. But I didn't make any major changes. I would have worked more on it today but I've been stuck up with physics homework :S Taking a break right now.

Yeah as you can see this is only like.. a 8 bar loop.. doesn't have much structure.

But yeah, again glad you liked it.

-Cheers Brando

Oh shit...

...my microphone's over here! That made me LoL! XD

OMG your sonic expression is so intense!!!

Keep it up! I'm sure some flash artist could use some of your talent!

I liked it!

The bass at the beginning was cool, the kick/snare really got my attention.

You may need to EQ your snare and hat a bit, they're quite bland, yet strong.

The lead solo at 0:46 was sort of unexpected, and was kind of empty.

I like the snare roll and then the part afterwards, with your typical trance beat!

I must say though, this song is quite repetitive, it took a little while for it to change up.

That new synth that comes in has a nice sidechain on it, don't know if that was deliberate, or it may just be the strong bass pushing the actual final master of the synth lol...I've done that before by accident.

Nice arp lead that comes in later, really driving.

Your song is really bassy overall, which is good, but it's almost too bassy, the bass and kick almost have a tendency to drown out all other sounds, especially the highs.

Overall great job, yet it has room for improvement. :]

Thanks for the in depth-ness of the review :)

I'll be sure to work on some of the things you said.

Moving...minus the sustain pedal squeak of terror!

XD...*cough*

You played so nicely! I love how you just made that piano sing.

:3

Suzuki baby grand eh, seems like they have to do a callback on all models, they have a defective squeaky pedal..lol I'm just kidding. I'm surprised they didn't do anything about that before the recital. And I'm sure you weren't the first performer, so they must have noticed it earlier, but just didn't feel like doing anything about it... :'[

I felt like writing you reviews lately, since I haven't done so, and because I didn't talk to you at ALL today!!! :O

Well, have a great day tomorrow, keep up the great work at both music and school/studies! I know you're very busy!!!

All the best Mel. :]

Thank you! I've been busy and I had two midterms today. x_x

The sustain pedal is horrid. Of course, it was better than earlier in the recital when it just fell off the piano in the middle of my song. :(

I wanna fly to MYST!

:3

You know it. lol

This piece of music really gives a mysterious feeling, very ominous...

Then again, I <3 all of your music!!! :D

Keep up the awesome work!

PS: I never played the game, I was very deprived in my youth. I didn't get my own PC until grade 7. And all the computers I played on prior to that were so bad that all we played were games like...solitaire. XD

Kazmo

Phyrnna responds:

You should really play the game! :D I love it for the conceptual wonderfulness it has. :D

I quite enjoyed this!

I must say, you're really getting the hang of FL8, and I'm quite proud of you! :3

The crowd sound that comes in at around 0:34 sort of gets annoying at 0:55, because it's on every beeaaatt XD but ya, experimenting is key! :D

Love the sounds/structure.

The piano is quite lovely. :]

Keep it up Mel, heck, let's collab soon!!! :D

Pi^2/10 lolololol

Phyrnna responds:

Thank you! Of course with your help of course! <-redundant line of redundancy!

It gets annoying? :( I thought it sounded good. Hmm... maybe I can tone it down a little.

Sounds/Structure? Actually this song was a mash of mistakes. xD There are about three/four key changes in the entire song. Which all originated from one mistake key change and I just went on that. xD Also the synth sounds are all my own 3xOsc sounds, but one of them was a little oopsie that I stumbled upon and kept.

Yes yes, let's collab! :3

Pi^2/10<- the area of a circle with radius 1/10? O.o

Very nice my friend!

Right off the start, you grab my attention, that's good.

Note: Don't over use the white noise effect thingy for the first minute.

1:22 is a nice change.

It's a bit repetitive, and some of the sounds are a tad ear-piercing, such as the white noise.

This is nice change from all your mash-up remixes nonetheless, which they are quite awesome as well.

Thanks for your review Kazmo!!

I'll try to follow your suggestions

thanks again!!!

The trek is coming to a close.

You've really come a long way Melody, it's awesome.

The piano at the beginning sounds old-fashioned, but I think that was your approach, because then it fades into a more modern sounding piano.

The bass is soooo nice, I love what you did here. The bass is so strong too, without any distortion either.

The lead that comes in at 0:52 hurt lol.

After that, it's pretty cool, it's hard to tell if there's a kick though. I suggest compressing the kick, and perhaps 'sidechaining' the bass to the kick, so that there's a more distinct kick. Also, perhaps make the beat more 'techno-ish' when you get into the final part at 0:54 with an off-beat hat and a clap every other beat.

Overall, very nice song. Very good use of the core sounds!

Alright, Kick It!

I love the transition at 00:20-on!!! It just breaks into wicked leads.

I think it needs to be longer, even for a WIP. It's more or less a loop right now.

A few things, the intro is misleading, it almost sounds like a video game song.

You also have a lot of of instruments playing the same notes at certain times, so it seems some flat-line, with no real depth, not until after 00:22.

I think the offbeat bass is conflicting with the other sounds a bit, it may just be my headset, but it may also be a compression problem, not quite sure, just a heads-up.

Other than that, this should turn out to be a rather nice song!!!

Keep up the good work!
